About Course
Welding and Fabrication Level 6 qualification consists of competencies that a person must achieve to enable him/her to carry out various welding processes including Gas welding, manual metal arc welding, Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding and Metal Active Gas (MAG) welding. In addition, it also involves competencies for performing welding quality control, designing products and structures and fabricating products and structures.
Career Prospects
Graduates can work in various sectors including construction, manufacturing, shipbuilding, automotive, oil and gas, and engineering, as welders, fabricators, structural steel workers, pipeline technicians, or welding inspectors. They can also start their fabrication workshops or welding businesses and progress into supervisory, instructional, or quality assurance roles with experience and further training.

Assessment

Formative and summative assessments for the Welding & Fabrication course will be done by MIOG-NP internal assessors, with external verifiers ensuring quality. Trainees will maintain a portfolio of evidence as part of ongoing internal assessment.
