Amid the constant buzz of Nairobi’s Industrial Area, the Morendat Institute of Oil & Gas (MIOG) is fast emerging as a center of excellence in technical training and energy innovation. Far from a traditional classroom setting, MIOG combines industry-relevant training with hands-on experience, positioning itself as a key player in developing a skilled workforce for the evolving energy sector, both locally and internationally.

The campus is located along Sekondi Road, home to the institute’s head office, and adjacent to the mother company, the Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC).

Key Features include:

Here, students engage in hands-on learning through:

  • The School of Welding, fitted with containerized booths and top-tier SMAW, MIG, GTAW, and plasma cutting machines.
  • Engineering Workshops, designed for real-industry simulation.
  • An ISO 17025:2017-accredited Quality Control Laboratory, one of the region’s finest for petroleum testing and calibration.
  • Miniature pipeline skid is available for instrumentation and control, pipeline operations, and mechanical training.
  • A CNC Lathe Machine lab for high-precision machining training.
  • The state-of-the-art Smart Classroom Laboratory, packed with over 1,000 digital learning modules, interactive kits, simulations, and virtual experiments.
